Item Description:Ten items concerning the legal case to exclude Huguenot Jean Rangeard from practicing medicine in Bordeaux. Items one to three, six and seven are printed pamphlets in support of Rangeard; four and five are pamphlets regarding the exclusion of Élie Bouhéreau and his Huguenot colleagues Jean Seignette and Élie Richard from the college of medicine in La Rochelle; eight and nine are letters from Jean Rangeard to Élie Bouhéreau, dated 28th October and 10th November 1684, and item ten the parcel wrap in which the items were sent [and kept by Bouhéreau?]. In the letter of the 10th November 1984, Rangeard explains that the persecution he has suffered is similar to that endured by Bouhéreau and his Huguenot colleagues, and that he has enclosed the pamphlets he has had printed in his defence, and asks Bouhéreau to send any material related to his own case.
Includes original piece of wrapping paper addressed to Bouhéreau in La Rochelle, on which he has written 'lettres de divers', and blue paper wrap.
