Item Description: | Engraved title page with statues of the Flemish anatomists Andreas Vesalius and Adrianus Spigelius (Adriaan van den Spiegel). 'II lt' and 'B.' on front pastedown. Annotation in French in Bouhéreau's hand on first flyleaf referring to the XVth issue of the Journal des Savans of the year 1682, dealing with the discovery by M. Marchetti of two 'canals' : one linking the spleen and the duodenum and the other the liver and the kidneys. Corrections to the text throughout the volume. Corrections and additions to the figures and their legends (ex. Figures I, II, IX and X). Comment in Latin about the accuracy of fig. I. A few markings in ink and pencil in the margins. Manuscript addition of an entry to the index at letter 'S'. Markings and annotations in the 'Errata'. |
