Binding Note: | Binding elaborately gold-tooled polished blue morocco by Sir Edward Sullivan. The large panel of the upper cover is filled with tall vertical flowers inlaid in red, the border rosettes are also inlaid in red. Tooled in the panel of the lower cover is the inscription 'Good-day and Happiness dear Rosalind, June 1914'; the initials 'D.H.' are inlaid in the opposite corner, a scalloped lozenge and two tall flowers form the other corne motifs. It is signed 'E.S. Aurifex'. The title and translator are tooled on the spine within a design of tall flowers inlaid in red. Gold-tooled turn-ins, top edge gilt, other untrimmed. |
