Binding Note: | Binding: Dublin gold-tooled red morocco, with inlaid cream lozenge extending almost to the border roll; the head of George III in profile, with the motto 'Long Live the King', and an Irish harp in the upper angle, victory in the lower. The royal monogram is tooled in the corners; crowns, sceptres and swords are also used. Flat spine gold-tooled to five compartments, with green lettering-pieces in the second and fourth. Marbled endleaves and gilt edges. Abbey sale catalogue, lot 1623. Craig No. 182, page 37 records a similar almanack for 1797, in the National Museum, Ireland. |
