| Item Description: | Library also holds numbers of this journal published in Amsterdam. 09 March 1665, p. 109 and 27 February 1668, p. 31-36 : holes in the pages resulting in loss of text. Missing letters and words added in ink. 18 January 1666, p. 37 : 'N' written in pencil in outer margin. 16 May 1667 : loose leaf glued over engraved page between p.106-107. Written in ink, it contains 20 lines instructions in French on how to make a 'Remède pour l'hydropisie'. Several marginal annotations in ink in Bouhéreau's hand : 16 December 1669, p. 42 : 'Voyez, sur ce mot de Paracletus, les Recherches de Pâquier, Livr.6 ch.17. touchant Abaillard' 27 June 1672, p. 112 : 'Mr. Tessereau m'écrit de Paris du 20e d'Avril, 1674. que le Journal des Savans, qui devoit étre entre celuy du 27e de Juin, et celuy du 23e de Juillet 1672. ne se trouve point ; l'Autheur n'ayant pas voulu qu'il fût imprimé' 12 December 1672, p. 157 : 'Icy pourroyent étre insérez, pour Supplément de 1672. et 1673. les Mémoires des Arts et des Sciences, par Mr. Denys, faits dans ce même intervale.' 01 January 1674, p. 12 : 'Jusqu'icy Mr. Galois. La suite est d'un autre nommé Mr. l'Abbé de la Roque' 17 December 1674, p. 1 : 'Les journaux qui suivent ne sont plus de Mr. Galois.' 03 April 1684, p. 111 : 'La forme consiste dans le tour.' Manuscript corrections of composition mistakes and grammar or spelling errors in ink in the margins and between lines throughout all sixteen volumes. Some of them were corrected in the Errata printed at the end of each year (it's explicit for 1683 and 1684 : Bouhéreau has written 'Corr.' at the end of both Errata). A few short manuscript additions to the text in the margins and between lines in the following volumes : 10 January 1678, p. 1 ; 11 September 1679, p. 263 ; 05 February 1680, p. 30 ; 20 July 1682, p. 223 ; 12 July 1683, p. 196. |
