Note placed in copy states: 'Primer. Bishop Hilsey's primer printed at London 1539. By John Mayler for John Wayland Andrew Hester, and Michael Lobley. This copy belonged early in the seventeenth century to Humphry Dyson who paid 2/6 for it. It was afterwards sold at Richard Smith's auction 1682 Lot 51. STC 16010'.
