Item Description: | Previous shelf mark and coat of arms drawn on front pastedown. Notes on volume and coat of arms on front flyleaf. Woodcut title page, partially coloured in and woodcut initials. Preface: 'To the honorable a[ss]embly of gentlemen in the Innes of Court and Chauncery, Gerard Legh vvisheth loialtie'. To the reader: 'Richarde Argall of thinner Temple, wisheth the Reader aduauncement by vertue'. Colophon: 'Imprynted at London in fletestrete within temple Barre at the signe of the hand & starre. by Rychard Tottel, An. 1568'. Includes table, pull out woodcut of coat of arms flanked by Atlas and Hercules with motto 'volat alta ad sidera virtvs'. Several coats of arms coloured in according to the letter guides. Some annotations in ink and pencil with some passages marked in pencil. Written on back pastedown: 'John Druell Archdeacon & canon of Exceter died 8o Junij 1453' along with (faded) 'Williams'. |

Binding Note: | Dark leather. Very faded blind tooling with triple fillets around perimeter of boards of a wide fillet between two narrow fillets. Same pattern of triple fillets on inner frame with four cornerpieces and tool in centre with S on its left-hand side and [G] on its right-hand side. |
