Extensively annotated in Latin in 15th/ early 16th-century hand with corrections to text, manicules, underlining and passages marked with lines.
Pages have been trimmed.
Inscriptions in a 16th/ 17th century hand on verso of colophon: 'Expectes eadem a summo minimoq[ue] poeta; pen trials 'W' and 'V'; 'who'; and 'vita via ad mortem est ad quam'. Longer inscription starting 'vita via ad mortem est ad quam cum nascimur imus ...' on recto of next leaf and 'ffinch' and crossed out Latin inscription on verso.

Bookplate of Bishop Stearne pasted onto front pastedown.
Binding Note:Blind tooled brown calf over paste-board with two rolls by Garret Godfrey, one with a wyvern, a griffin and a lion, the other with heraldic emblems, both signed GG. Traces of two pairs of clasps, hinging on the upper cover. Sewn on three cords which have been laced in. The spine shows marks of rope or cords used to tie up the binding as it was drying after the leather had been pasted onto the boards. The edges are sprinkled in red and the endleaves consist of white paper paste-downs conjugate with a stub and a free leaf, also conjugate with a sub. Rebacked in 2019.
