Item Description: | ISTC ip00770000 Conservation completed. Place of publication taken from ISTC. Initials in red and blue. Rubricated underlining of names of popes. Extensively annotated throughout in Latin, including on front endleaf, with manicules, doodles, underlining and passages marked with trefoils and other symbols. Examples of doodles include a small drawing of a long-haired man beside where Pope Anicetus reportedly decreed that no priest should wear his hair long and a face in the initial of Leo III. Also includes manuscript headings. Binding Note: | Mid-brown [sheep] with narrow double fillet lines around periphery of boards and narrow double fillet lines parallel to spine. Back board shows evidence of repair. Rebacked with 'Platinae in vit: Pont:' gold tooled in second compartment. Four bands and five compartments on spine, with wide fillet lines on and wide double fillet lines below and above bands. Newer endleaves. |
