Item Description: | f. 1r: Inscription: [Drawing of flower with hours of clock in roman numerals] 'Senz'il mio Sole il Dio mio/ mente posso'. Written on vellum, and likely dates from the 2nd quarter of the 13th century. Likely England in origin, evidence of cropping. Contains 4 works: i Bedae Venerabilis, Commentaria in Parabolas Salomonis, 25 fols. ii ---, De Tabernaculo lib. 3. 25 fol. iii --, Commentaria in Cantica, lib. 6. 42 fol. iv --, Commentaria in Danielam. 18 fol. Decorated initials with red, blue and green inks in early medieval style. The opening of each new text is composed in a form of caroloine miniscule. Most likely scribe is imitating older manuscript of work. Text features contemporary annotations as well as possible sixteenth-century hand. Later notes in both French and Latin. Previously numbered G3.2.20; V3.3.6. See also Z4.1.22(1) which is part of same volume. |
