Summary of the text: The Protestants ask the Duke of Noailles to speak on their behalf to the King regarding the following points: - According to the Edicts, Protestants could practice all professions but the Rulings which followed prohibited them from many professions. -They are forbidden to send Protestant children to school before they come of age because before then they are not mature enough to decide the right religion to adopt and parents are also prohibited from sending their children to abroad for their education. -The ministers of the Reformed religion are few in number and they are prevented from doing their duty among Protestants. -It is difficult for Protestants to have recourse to justice and the Chambers are not impartial in their decisions. -Protestants are prohibited from talking about their religion to Catholics so as not to push them to change religion. The author cites edicts and rulings which advocate pacification and which are not respected by Catholics who mistreat Protestants. He also explains that the king was misinformed about the Reformed religion, of which he gives details, and that it is in no way heresy since they are based on the holy scriptures. Having proven the validity of his religion, the author finished by asking that the Edicts be respected.
