Numbers 936-940 in ink at top of pages. Printed page numbers (67 to 72) and the title "Apologie du Projet des Réformés" crossed out on the top of the pages. The last paragraph of the printed text has been crossed out. Annotated at the bottom of the page 940 : "A cette requeste générale on […] la requeste particulière qui ceux de Ste Hypolithe […] au Roy aux mêsmes puis que cette […]. Requeste des habitants de Ste Hypolithe." These pages are taken from the book “Etat des reformés en France, v.3 : apologie du projet des reformés de France" by Claude Brousson published in La Haye, chez Barent Beeck, 1685. See also items 16, 22, 24, 28 Summary of the text: This letter addressed to the king is a response from the Protestants to the previous text concerning the “Reformed Project”. Despite their unwavering loyalty to their king, they must pay homage to God and this is very difficult for them under the conditions dictated by the Edicts and Decrees. They therefore ask the king to annul the Declarations, Decrees and Judgments which prevent them from exercising their faith. |
