Fields include: members' name; Knot; date admitted and initiated into the Order, date elevated to Regular Brother status; if an application is rejected the date is provided; 'observations' are also recorded (sometimes occupation or if a member has died). Periodically, the occupation is given under observations (many of the occupations are military). Note states on opening page: 'NB. The date of the Patent [charter granted for establishing a new Knot] for holding the County Carlow Knot is 17th April 1799' and notes that the meeting place is 'Whitmore's Club House'. Membership dates refer to the period 17 July 1779-1841. |
