Annotation in [Bouhéreau's] hand on back pastedown contains : - two Latin verses from Ovid Ars Amatoria III, v. 59-60 : 'Venturae memores iam nunc estote senectae / Sic nullum vobis tempus abibit iners.' - their equivalent in French in four verses (presumably taken from La Foire des enfants d’Israël, en français et flamen. Par Gabriel Meurier Avesnois. Antwerp : Jean Waesberghe, 1580) : 'Pensez enfans, dès ce jeune âge, / A la vieillesse qui vous suit : / Et vous n’aurez point le courage / De passer aucun temps sans fruit.' - again two verses in Latin and their equivalent in French on the importance of serving and honoring God. 'Disce Dei teneris cultum omnipotentis ab annis / Aeterna[m] si vis, Nate, quiete frui.' translated as follows : 'Apprens, mon Fils, dès jeunesse, à connoitre / Comment te faut honorer et Servir / Le Le Tout-Puissant qui t’a donné ton être / Si du repos éternel veux jouir'.
