Binding Note:Binding: lavishly gold-tooled polished green morocco by Sir Edward Sullivan. The upper cover is inlaid in red, maroon and tan with a red oval set within an eight-pointed concave lozenge, framed, in turn, by a scalloped outline lozenge. The lower cover has a floral spray in one corner and in the opposite a diamond motif with its quarters formed of a bird and small tools. 'Omar Kayyam' is tooled on the spine, with a tall flower inlaid in red on either side. Broad turn-ins tooled in gold, and with gilt edges.
