Binding Note:Binding: a finely executed plaque binding in brown morocco by De La Rue, London, with their stamp on both covers. The covers are identical a central oval panel with a lily and a spray of large roses and in the centre a small reclining female. Ornate and finely worked border. An upright design runs the length of the spine with a female figure as a central motif. Gold lettering 'Album', 'London' and 'De La Rue, Cornish and Rock'. Simulated red watered silk endleaves, turn-ins tooled in silver, gilt edges. a well preserved and excellent example of this style of finely executed blind imprints, which were a speciality of the De La Rue bindery.
