Bibliography:Gothic lettering, woodcut titles, initials, arms of Lord Burghly on verso of titles, numerous illustrations. The title border is a standard block of the printer, Henry Bynneman, incorporating his mermaid device, some initials are also from his standard collection. The subjects of the woodcuts are general rather than particular, illustrating for example a battle scene rather than a particular battle. Many are repeated, some more than once. There are many misnumberings and cancellations throughout the work. An 1834 receipt for this Holinshed and other books, signed by Thomas Thorpe along with a newsclipping from the letters to the Editor Page of the Irish Times, written by Benjamin Guinness and a four page note on the book.
