An undulating leaf and flower border roll, with a tulip head and oval medallion alternating in the waves. The flat spines tooled to six compartments are the work of a professional in design and execution. A large circular ornament in the first and sixth compartment; a black lettering-piece in the second, a circular number piece in the third, with an asymmetrical flourish tool in the corners; the date on a red strip between two black bands in the fourth, a large oval ornament in the fifth and sixth compartments. An interesting roll at the base is identically positioned on all volumes. Marbled endleaves, the edges are stained yellow. |
