Binding Note: | Binding: Dublin gold-tooled tree calf, the outer panel of the covers stained olive. Border pointills fillet corners formed by narrow intersecting roll. Trinity arms stamped on the inner panel of all covers. Flat spine tooled to six compartments. Red lettering-piece in the second and fourth. An urn which also appears on a 1793 almanack, in the third and fifth compartments, a centre floral spray in the first and sixth. Marbled endleaves and sprinkled edges. Volume one rebacked, retaining the original spine. Bound uniformly with Tasso's 'Jerusalem Delivered' and Ariosto's 'Orlando' Both are also translated by Hoole, were part of the same prize and share the same provenance.
