Binding Note: | Binding: Dublin gold-tooled tan morocco. Crown and mitre roll border within double fillets. Centre lozenge composed of bird, vase and quadrant fan tools, flowers, dots and tendrills. The spine has five bands and six gold-tooled compartments, with gilt edges. Uniformly bound with Hawkey's 'Paradise Regained' (1752) ; it, however is in red morocco. Illustrated in McDonnell and Healy, plate XLV and identified as the work of Joseph Leathley's binder; individual tools are identified. |
