Binding Note:Binding: gold-tooled green morocco probably by McKenzie, with broad border of overlapping and reversed pointille gouges; an inner border of two alternating flowers, one a smaller version of the other; an urn in the corners. Flat spine gold-tooled to eight compartments, with a red lettering-piece in the second, gilt edges. William Newcome was Bishop of Ossory. He dedicated this work to the Provost and Fellows of Trinity College. The gospels, which are printed in Greek, are arranged alongside on the page in four columns. They are followed by seventy-two pages of notes in English. See archival envelope for further information.
