In his 1991 letter to Lord Iveagh, Lord Moyne explains that the scripts had been prepared for a reading of the play at a meeting of the Dublin P.E.N. Club which was held at Knockmaroon on April 25, 1958. Accompanying Documents: A typed page issued by the Honorary Secretary of the Dublin P.E.N. Club, Arthur H. Rae, making travel arrangements for the participating guests. Typed list of acceptance - total thirty-five. Lennox Robinson's autograph list of characters and an account of the scripts allocated. A typed list of the characters. With corresponding actor's name written in pencil by Lord Moyne. An autograph note from Lord Moyne to Lennox Robinson which accompanied a bound copy of the typescript: '20 copies of which have been done for love of you an the PEN by Mia Eileen Walker'. A card from Lord Moyne to Bobs Figgis arranging that, with his approval, he would be understudy to Lennox Robinson for the part of PAVEL as Lennox's heart had been giving his trouble'.
